Our balanced life of work and prayer, our excellent liturgy and praying the Liturgy of the Hours, and our hospitable and congenial monastic community is an ideal environment for a person to grow into Christ. Men discerning a vocation to St. Mary’s Abbey are welcome to arrange a visit with us. Some come for a day, an overnight, a weekend, or to celebrate with us at the Sacred Triduum.
Becoming a monk of St. Mary’s Abbey involves four stages. They are inquirer, postulant, novice, and junior. In all, these stages typically last a minimum of four-and-a-half years.
